[A FOOD & affair, MELBOURNE]

The only thing better than brunch in Melbourne is a long lunch.

I don't think there's anything more wonderful than the knowledge you are about to settle in to a champagne-to-start, wine-paired meal. With the right company, a long afternoon of grazing is the perfect remedy to a long week.

After a stunning media lunch styled in a lavish seasonal setting a couple weeks back that unfortunately ended prematurely, we returned for the full Woolshed experience. And a complete gastronomical affair it was.

Our reaction to this duck dish was beyond jaw-dropping! To say this dish looks impressive is an understatement, it sits almost as big as the table! Of course, we were happily able to polish it off because it is, without a doubt, the best duck I have ever tasted. One of the things I love most about how this dish is prepared is that it is so simple to eat - extraordinarily full of flavour and a perfectly balanced tender texture with a crispy coated skin.

My favourite of the dessert tasting platter is the sticky date pudding. There's nothing better than ending a meal on a sweet and satisfying note!

On the edge of the waterfront looking out to the Docklands harbour sits the beautiful Woolshed Melbourne. With rustic exposed architecture complemented with modern furnishings, the fireside room is a space I could escape to daily in winter. Woolshed is a spacious all-day dining venue with rooms designed for every mood and every hour of the day.
