DINING AT: BABY PIZZERIA
As far as trendy Melbourne restaurants go, I'm ALMOST embarrassed to admit how long it's taken me to visit Baby Pizzeria... more than six years late to the table... OPPS (and that is one big opps because I have been missing out!!). As the Italian sister to Melbourne's IT restaurant, Chin Chin, where the wait is often 3hours+, you just know that you're going to have a good time at Baby.
After all these many years as a shining neon beacon of ultra cool meets traditional Italian, it was well worth a visit. Especially right now during the month of June because Baby is having PORCHETTA month to celebrate all things pork.
Think a REALLY good pork ragu pappardelle (my fave style of pasta!), plates loaded with 24 month San Daniele prosciutto and perfectly slow roasted suckling pig porchetta - crackling and all.
And don't forget the tiramisu ;)
24 month San Daniele prosciutto, shavings of young parmesan w classic Emilia Romagna crispy bread
Poached veal, seared tuna, mayonaise & capers
Pappardelle Calabrese All’Uovo
Pappardelle all’uovo, calabrese pork ragu, nduja, sweet peppers, cherry tomatoes
Porchetta con Cassoeula
Slow roasted suckling pig porchetta, crackling, braised cabbage - (Thurs to Sunday)
fior di latte, meatballs, san marzano tomatoes, pecorino, fresh basil, chilli
SOMETHING SWEET -
Sponge, marsala, brandy, mascarpone, espresso
